Who we are
At FlightSeeks, we value your privacy. This policy outlines how we collect, use, and protect your data when you use our website.
Comments
When visitors leave comments on our site, we collect the information shown in the comments form, along with the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to assist with spam detection. An anonymized string created from your email address (a hash) may be sent to the Gravatar service to check if you are using it. Once your comment is approved, your profile picture will be visible publicly alongside your comment.
Media
If you upload images to our website, please refrain from including images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS). Visitors can download and extract any location data from the images present on our site.
Cookies
If you leave a comment, you may opt to save your name, email address, and website in cookies for your convenience (to avoid re-entering details on future comments). These cookies last for one year.
When accessing our login page, a temporary cookie will be set to check if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded upon closing the browser.
Upon logging in, several cookies will be saved to store your login details and screen display preferences. Login cookies last for two days, while screen options cookies last for a year. If you choose “Remember Me,” your login will persist for two weeks. Logging out will remove these login cookies.
If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be stored in your browser, which only indicates the post ID of the article you just edited; it expires after one day.
Embedded Content
Articles on FlightSeeks may include embedded content (e.g., videos, images, articles). This embedded content behaves like the visitor has directly visited the other site. These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interactions with the content if you are logged into that website.
Data Sharing
If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email.
Data Retention
Comments and their metadata are retained indefinitely to recognize and approve follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
For registered users, personal information from their user profiles is stored. Users can view, edit, or delete their personal information at any time, except for their username. Website administrators can also see and edit this information.
Your Rights
If you have an account on this site or have left comments, you can request an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold, except for data we must retain for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
Data Processing
Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.
